I’m a queer/nb indigenous artist from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma with lots of various performing and life experience with a passion for film. My very first job was even in a movie theater! I went to college first focused on dance, theater, and photography but ended up taking a ton of film and tv writing classes and loving it! My capstone project was a multi pronged project where I made a short film, wrote, directed, and produced a one act play, and performed a solo piece.
After college I did a lot of modeling and produced, emceed, and performed in variety, comedy, and cirque style shows across the country for a decade. I was even briefly a licensed professional wrestler! I sort of did my own personal life phase capstone at that time by writing, directing, and starring in a dark immersive cirque style show, a re-imagined horror style Alice in Wonderland, during which a film I made played simultaneously on many vintage TVs throughout the theater. It got rave reviews and was one of my all time favorite projects.
During that time I was also in a band and started doing a lot of work on music videos which is when my passion for film really took off and I never looked back. I’ve always had so many interests and it finally hit me that all the different forms of art that I love doing; visual arts, theater, music, dance, fashion, photography, literally all the things I love to make can all be combined into one thing, film! Not to mention my unrelenting desire to make the world a better place through art, with film truly being the perfect medium.
Since the moment I had that life altering realization I’ve solely focused on film. I worked on my first feature in 2015 and simply can’t see myself doing anything else. I’ve done so many jobs on set and have worked in almost every department which I find makes me much more well rounded and is especially helpful when directing. I’ve always been a sort of jack of all trades as I have so many interests, a relentless curiosity, and desire to learn, and that comes in handy no matter what my role is!
